Located along the peaceful shores of Hollywood Beach, this residence at The Diplomat is a masterclass in timeless architecture, and coastal-modern refinement, designed to serve as a tranquil beach getaway for a couple who likes to escape the hustle and bustle of family life for peaceful beach weekends. Inspired by its direct oceanfront context, the design vision by Troy Dean Home emphasizes warm minimalism and intentionality, allowing the architecture to breathe through a palette of soft textures, light-filled spaces, and organic materials. The vision of this home was based on the client’s desires for contemporary beachy escape, and a neutral palette that enabled the art to be featured in a gallery like setting. True to the Troy Dean Home philosophy, every detail—from the beautiful stone island to the sculptural wooden console—is meticulously curated to redefine luxury as a state of clarity rather than excess. By balancing the openness of the coastal landscape with the intimacy of a private retreat, the home achieves a quiet harmony that feels both elevated and deeply grounded—a purposeful environment where architecture and comfort coexist seamlessly.
Construct
The execution of this Hollywood Beach residence at The Diplomat exemplifies Troy Dean Home’s fully integrated design-build approach. Custom white millwork and vertical paneling are meticulously integrated into the architectural envelope to provide functional storage and visual texture without disrupting the minimalist aesthetic. To honor the oceanfront location, the open-concept layout is paired with floor-to-ceiling glass to maximize the influx of natural light, blurring the line between the refined interior and the turquoise horizon. This sense of openness is further enhanced by a sophisticated layered lighting scheme—combining recessed architectural fixtures, warm linear cove lighting, and grey sculptural pendants—to create an atmosphere that shifts gracefully from the brightness of day to the intimacy of evening. Every detail, from the monolithic marble island to the warm wood accents, reflects a commitment to precision and restraint, resulting in a home where high-level craftsmanship and daily function coexist in perfect, quiet harmony.
